THIS IS NOWHERE GETS GREENLIT FOR PRODUCTION IN LATE SPRING 2015
Albany, N.Y. - THIS
IS NOWHERE welcomes Executive Producers Stephanie Dillon & Thelma Adams
THIS IS NOWHERE, the “coming-of-age” feature film about Darcy, an idealistic fifteen-year-old, living on the
edge between right and wrong, has gotten it’s official “Green Light” after
securing investor financing is now well on its way to production in
late spring/early summer 2015.
Producer Heidi E.
Philipsen-Meissner has signed a deal with Executive Producer Stephanie Dillon
(BIKES OVER BAGDAD, TURN AROUND, STAY THEN GO) to finance the film being developed
by Philipsen-Meissner’s company, Personae Entertainment (www.personaeentertainment.com).
“The script reminded me of
a quote by May Sarton: ‘We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or
strange that self may prove to be,’” says Executive Producer Stephanie Dillon,
who has seen her fair share of scripts while developing projects that represent
her passion in advocating for women’s issues.
Thelma Adams, published
film critic, novelist, two-time Chair of the New York Critics’ Circle, and Contributing
Editor of Yahoo Movies from 2011-2014, is also now adding the title of Executive
Producer to her list of professional accomplishments. She joins a team of three female executive
producers—including Kathryn J. McDermott (SOMETHINGS GOT TO GIVE, MIMESIS, SPIDERMAN
I) and Ms Dillon—to tirelessly advocate on the film’s behalf from its
development through distribution.
This marks a great success for the independent film that
has been in development since January 2013.
“This is Nowhere” is now
set for production sometime between April and June 2015 and locations in
upstate New York and upper Michigan are currently being considered.

blown away; when I viewed the short she wrote, produced, directed and acted
(Her Telling Heart), and was equally impressed, we knew it would be a great fit
[working together],” said Jon Russell Cring.
Ms Philipsen was equally excited about the idea of working with the Crings: “Jon
and Tracy stormed the Capital District indie film scene with intensity – here
was this filmmaking duo who easily intimidated their peers because they were
just relentless in their pursuit of making films, actually living their dream. I couldn’t
help but respect their determination no matter the odds and thought, ‘Okay –
this is a no brainer: We’ve got to collaborate!”
for Heidi, who goes by the alias Eli Meissner in her producing and directing
endeavors, the Crings had a script they wanted to show her.
“This is Nowhere was so well-written, I
could see it in my mind, I knew it had to be made and the best way is by
producing it,” says Ms. Philipsen-Meissner. “I jokingly asked Niko [her husband], who has
a seasoned background in multi-billion dollar renewable energy development
projects if he’d like to donate his spare time to making a feature and when he
surprised me and said, ‘yes,’ I knew we were on our way to a seriously

IS NOWHERE is about Darcy, an idealistic fifteen-year-old, living on the edge
of town in her family's modest motel where the justice system dumps its
“trash.” In a world where prostitutes, addicts, and ex-cons are her friends and
extended family, it's hard to stay away from the darkness when you're
surrounded by it.
